SMM_ARTS believes in creating an open-source choreographic community of emerging and established dance professionals to provide inspiration, discussion, and preserving the art intelligence in the dance world. Our goal is to facilitate an event that encourages dancers to work as a community to choreograph and produce new works that will contribute to an online choreography library.

Dances by Isadora APAP Showing

All are invited to this FREE showing on Sun. Jan. 14 at 3 or 7 pm at the JCC Manhattan.

The last few years have seen a new generation of dancers and audiences discovering a resurgence of interest in Duncan’s work which focuses on her radical simplicity of gesture and vibrant musicality. Dances by Isadora, directed by Catherine Gallant, has performed and taught in Hungary, France, Germany, Finland, Russia and throughout the US. Dances by Isadora’s programs provide audiences with insight into how dance continues to shape and be shaped by our world. The company invites audiences to celebrate the works of yesterday—while considering how they relate to the works of today. Program will include our version of Allegretto to the music of Beethoven and selected Duncan repertoire to the music of Chopin, Scriabin and Gluck.
