2018 AEC Tech

On October 25 – 28, CORE studio hosted AEC Tech 2018, the sixth annual event, in New York City! The theme for the event was Interpolations, focusing on the injection of innovative processes, technologies, and workflows that are rerouting the way the industry works, designs, and thinks.

The event kicked off with workshops on Thursday, the symposium was held Friday, and the infamous hackathon took place on Saturday and Sunday. All three events sold out with the symposium and workshops having the largest attendance to date with 175 and 100 people respectively, the hackathon sold out at 80 hackers! Attendees came from all over the country and world including the United States, Canada, Japan, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, and Australia. The event had a record-breaking 70 different AEC companies represented as well!

You can read more about the workshops here and more about the symposium program here

As a result of the 26-hour Hackathon on Saturday, October 27, 9 new open-source projects were created and published! All presentations and GitHub links can be found here.

The success of the 2018 events is in part due to our workshop, symposium, and hackathon sponsors: Autodesk, Konstru, wework, Ladybug, Building Ventures, Proving Ground, and Robert McNeel & Associates.
